On January 8, 2010 the Thai government decided to introduce annual reviews of anti-dumping duties instead of every five years. This amendment was made with a rationale of better protection of domestic manufacturers. The first anti-dumping case subject to the new annual review procedure was citric acid imported from China. The duty was increased as compared to the previously established level with the justification to adjust the level of protection to the level of anti-dumping duty on this citric acid put in place by other countries such as the United States.
