Import licensing requirement

On 8 September 2009, the Indian Department of Commerce issued new regulations for the treatment of electrical energy imports. Under the new rules, the Government of India requires licences for all imports of electrical energy. The licences are to be issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
