Import quota

On 8 June 2016, the government of Mexico attmpted to tackle supply disruptions and price increases for paddy and different forms of rice. To stabilize domestic prices, the government opened duty free import quotas for paddy, semi/wholly-milled and broken rice from countries with which Mexico does not have trade agreements.
