In July 2016, the government of Brazil initiated a new anti-dumping investigation. The investigation was terminated without the imposition of duties in November 2016.

On 20 July 2016, the Brazilian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of polyurethane laminates with fabric on one side from China (Circular No. 47 of 20 July 2016). The product subject to investigation is classified under HS codes subheadings: 3921.13.90, 3921.90.19, 3921.90.90, 5603.14.10, 5603.14.20, 5603.14.30, 5603.14.40, 5603.14.90, 5603.94.10, 5603.94.20, 5603.94.30, 5603.94.90 and 5903.20.00. The complaint was lodged on 28 April 2016 by Associação Brasileira de Empresas de Componentes para Couros, Calçados e Artefatos (Assintecal) on behalf of the domestic producers Nordeste S.A.; Cipatex Impregnadora de Papéis e Tecidos Ltda.; Endutex Brasil Ltda.; and Caimi & Liaison Indústria e Comércio de Couro e Sintético Ltda.
On 18 November 2016, the investigation was terminated without the imposition of duties following the withdrawal of the application by the petitioner.
