Import tariff quota

On 1 April 2016, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution No. 32 introducing tariff-rate quotas on casein; copolymers of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate; as well as human serum albumin respectively falling under the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM): 3501.10.00, 3904.30.00 and 3002.10.37. Hereto, the import duty was reduced from 14% to 2% on casein as well as on copolymers of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate with a quota of 1900 tonne and 5000 tonne respectively for a period of 12 months. The import tariff on human serum albumin was reduced from ad volume 4% to 0% with a quota of 240,780 vials of 10 grams for a period of 6 months. All three import tariff-quotas entered into force on 4 April 2016.
