Anti-dumping

On 18 July 2016, the Brazilian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of high-carbon steel wire with high mechanical strength, 3 or 7 wires and low relaxation from China (Circular No. 43, 15/07/2016). The product subject to investigation is classified under HS codes subheading: 7312.10.90. The complaint was lodged by Belgo Bekaert Arames Ltda.
 
On 23 December 2016, the Brazilian authorities imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of the subject good from China (Resolution No. 128 of 2016). The rate of the duty is USD 351.30 or 562.70 per tonne depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of 6 months.

On 7 July 2017, the Brazilian authorities imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from China (Resolution No. 45 of 2017). The rate of the duty is USD 290.11 or 627.04 per tonne depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
