Anti-subsidy

On 12 April 2016, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of certain hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel flat products originating in China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7219 and 7220. This investigation follows the application lodged by Jindal Stainless Limited and Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Limited on behalf of the domestic industry.

On 7 September 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue imposed a definitive countervailing duty on imports of the subject good from China. The rate of duty is 18.95% of the landed value. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
