Import tariff

On 21 March 2016, Pakistan's Ministry of Finance introduced a regulatory duty on the import of aluminium alloys and increased it on iron and steel products listed as below. The changes under this measure were initially valid until 30 June 2016 but have been extended indefinitely through SRO 477(I)/2016.

  • Bars and rods of iron or non-alloy steel under HS 7213, 7214, and 7215, angles, shapes and sections and wire of iron aor non-alloy steel under HS 7216 and 7217 from 15% to 30%
  • Bars and rods, not rolled, in irregularly wound coils, of other alloy steel under HS 7227 from 10% to 25%
  • Other/hollow drill bars and rods and angles, shapes & sections of other alloy steel or non-alloy steel, under HS 7228 from 15% to 30%
  • Wire of other alloy steel under HS 7229 from 20% to 35%
  • Wire, ropes, cables, plaited bands, slinges etc. of iron and steel under HS 7312 from 10% to 25%
  • Screws, bolts, nuts, coach screws hooks, rivers, cotters, cotter-pins, washers etc. of iron and steel from 10% to 25%
  • Certain wire, rods, tubes, platades, elctroders of base metal or metal carbides or of agglomorated base metal powder, under HS 8311 from 10% to 25%
  • Regulatory duty on aluminium alloys under HS 7601 introduced at 10%
