In January 2016, the government of India initiated a new anti-dumping investigation. In May 2017 a definitive duty was imposed.

On 27 January 2016, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of elastomeric filament yarn from China, Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei and Viet Nam. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 5404.11.00 by the Directorate General. This investigation follows the application lodged by Indorama Industries Ltd.
On 3 May 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance imposed a definitive antidumping duty on the subject good from China, Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei and Viet Nam. The rate of duty on imports from China is between USD 0.48 and 3.44 per kilogram depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from the Republic of Korea is between USD 0.15 and 1.90 per kilogram depending on the company. This is with the exemption of Hyosung Corporation whose exports are exempt from duties. The rate of duty on imports from Chinese Taipei is USD 2.40 per kilogram. The rate of duty on imports from Viet Nam is USD 0.36 or 2.16 per kilogram depending on the company. The definitive antidumping duty is in force for a period of five years. In a corrigendum issued on 1 June 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance clarified that products subject to definitive antidumping duties fall under HS code subheadings 5404.11.00, 5402.44.00 and 5402.69.90
