Production subsidy

On 14 March 2016, the European Commission announced a new support package for European farmers. A previous package was announced on 7 September 2015 (cf. Related Measures).
The package involves mobilising within the next two years another 500 million EUR in addition to the previously announced half billion euros.
Inter alia, the EC allowed member states to provide annual aid of up to 15'000 EUR per farmer.
Also, the intervention ceilings for skimmed milk and butter (cf. Related Measures) have been nearly doubled.
Commissioner Hogan also announced in the press release that the Commission will consider reintroducing another pig meat storage aid scheme and establishing an agricultural export credit scheme.
A state measure in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects the extent of discrimination against foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the state aid proposed here is discriminatory.
The list of affected trading partners is based on 2014 trade volumes.
