Anti-subsidy

On 17 February 2016, the Commissioner of the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of hot-rolled rods in coils of steel (maximum cross sections less than 14 mm), whether or not containing alloys, from China (Anti-Dumping Notice No. 2016/14, 17.02.2015).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7213.9100 and 7227.9090. The following products are excluded from the scope of the investigation: hot-rolled deformed steel reinforcing bar in coil form, commonly identified as rebar or debar, and stainless steel in coils. The complaint was lodged on 15 Janaury 2016 by OneSteel Manufacturing Pty Ltd. An anti-dumping investigation of similar scope was initiated in August 2015, see related measure.
