Localisation incentive

On February 10, 2016, the Government of Ontario announced the introduction of a new Electric Vehicle Incentive Program. Building upon a program that was launched in 2010, the new program will (among other things) increase the current incentive range for electric vehicles from Can.$5-8500 to Can.$6-10,000, and also cap incentives for vehicles priced between Can.$75,000 and Can.$150,000 at Can.$3,000. That latter restriction may have the effect of discriminating against higher-priced and imported models such as the Tesla. The manufacturer's suggested retail price of the 2016 Tesla Model S starts at U.S.$75,000.
