Export tax

 On 23 March 2011, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry reduced the Minimum Export Price (MEP) on all onions except Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram onions from USD 275 per metric ton to USD 225 per metric ton and on Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram onions from USD 1400 to USD 600 per metric ton.
 
The MEP on all onions except Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram was reduced again on 31 March 2011, while the MEP on the latter was reduced in May 2011 (see related measure)
