Anti-dumping

On 18 February 2016, the European Commission announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation on imports of certain lightweight thermal paper, from the Republic of Korea (Notice No 2016/C 62/07). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: ex 4811.90.00, ex 4809.90.00, ex 4816.90.00 and ex 4823.90.85. The complaint was lodged on 4 January 2016 by the European Thermal Paper Association, on behalf of producers representing more than 25% of the EU production of the subject goods.
 
On 18 November 2016, the European Commission imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of the subject good from the Republic of Korea (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 2016/2005 of 16 November 2016). The rate of duty is 12.1 % of the net free-at-Union-frontier price before duty. The measure is in force for a period of 6 months.

On 4 May 2017, the European Commission imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from the Republic of Korea. The amount of duty is EUR 104.46 per tonne net.
