Export tax

 On 12 August 2011, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry increased the Minimum Export Price on all onions except Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram onions from USD 230 per metric ton to USD 275 per metric ton, and on Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram onions from USD 350 to USD 400 per metric ton.
 
The MEP on onions except Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram onions was later increased on 24 August 2011 and on Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram onions on 7 September 2011.

AFFECTED SECTORS
