On 18 August 2011, the India Minstry of Commerce & Industry through Notification No. 67(RE-2010/2009-2014) amended the procedures for obtaining a Registration Certificate (RC) for export of Cotton to allow the exporter to apply for and obtain more than one RC.
The updated modalities and procedures for obtaining Registration Certificate for export of cotton were described inthe Notification No. 63 (RE-2010/2009-2014) published by the Ministry on 4 August 2011. According to this notification, an exporter could submit or have active only one RC application at a time and to obtain another RC a proof of export completion of the earlier RC had to be submitted. This provision is removed completely by the current measure and exporters can now apply for multiple RCs for cotton exports.
This measure is valid until 30 September 2011.
