Export tax

On 20 January 2016 the Minister of the National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan issued Order No. 18. It was registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 21 January 2016 under No. 12895. It introduces changes to Order No. 405 of 27 May 2015 of the Minister of the National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Concretely, it:

  • decreases the export duties with regard to crude oil (code 2709 00 900 9) exported (1) outside of Kazakhstan to third countries and (2) exported to countries participating in Free Trade Zone Agreements from 60 USD to 40 USD per 1 ton.
  • amended the application of the seasonal customs duties with regard to the same commodity from "constant" to "until 31 December 2016", which is a liberalising measure.

These amendments affect business transactions that took effect as of 1 January 2016.
