Import tariff

On 1 January 2016 the government of Malaysia decreased import tariffs on non-electric household type instantaneous or storage water heaters (from 30% to 5%); casings for cooling towers (from 25% to 5%); household type instantaneous gas water heaters (from 30% to 5%); specific centrifuges, filtering or purifying machinery suitable for a specific use (from 25% to 5%). Additionally import tariffs are partially lowered on multilayered assembled floor panels by substituting the subheading 4418.72.000 i.e. multilayered assembled floor panels (import tariff set at 20%) with subheadings 4418.72.100 i.e. multilayered assembled floor panels of bamboo (import tariff set at 5%) and subheading 4418.72.900 other multilayered assembled floor panels (import tariff set at 20%).

Products are classified on a ten-digit level tariff level. As such tariffs may therefore differ depending on a lower subheading level.
Affected trading partners are identified based on the UN Comtrade's import data from 2014.
