Labour market access

According to numerous and consistent press reports, the government of Jordan has taken steps to improve the job prospects of Jordanian nationals.

Apparently, the Labour Ministry has increased the fees for work permits of foreign workers to encourage hiring of domestic workers. Also, a specialised agency has been enacted to hire local workers in the Rift Valley region. The government will reimburse social insurance and training costs for Jordanians hired through the agency.
