Import tariff

 On 17 March 2015, Sri Lanka through Extraordinary Gazette 1906/7 reduced the Special Commodity Levy on imports of mackerel fish from Rs. 10 per kg. (USD 0.075) to Rs. 6 per kg (USD 0.045). The levy was initially announced for a period of 6 months but has later been extended every 6 months. The latest extension has been announced on 8 September 2017, valid for a period of 6 months.
 
The Special Commodity Levy is a composite duty on the product and no other tax, duty, cess etc. is applicable on the said product while the levy is valid.
