Anti-dumping

On November 17th, 2015, the Commissioner of the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of grinding balls from China (Anti-dumping Notice No. 2015/132, 17.11.2015). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7325.9100 and 7326.1100. The complaint was lodged on October 5th, 2015 by Commonwealth Steel Company Pty Ltd. and Donhad Pty Ltd.
An anti-subsidy investigation was also initiated (see measure 10488).
 
On 22 April 2016, the Commissioner of the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission imposed provisional anti-dumping duties on imports of grinding balls from China (Anti-dumping Notice No. 2016/45). The rate of the duty imposed on imports from China ranges between 12.6% and 113% depending on the exporting company.
On 6 May 2016, the Commissioner of the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission included the HS codes subheading: 7326.90.90 to the investigation and subsequent duty, whilst the goods description remains unaltered.
 
On 9 September 2016, the Australian authorities imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on above products from China (Anti-dumping Notice No. 90/2016). The rate of duty is between 3% and 95.4% depending on the company.
