Export licensing requirement

 On 22 December 2010, the Indian Ministry of Commerce & Industry issued Notification No. 14(RE-2010)/2009-14 imposing restrictions on the export of certain cotton yarn. Earlier, export of cotton yarn was allowed by any exporters provided the export contract was registered with the Trade Commissioner. With this notification, exports of cotton yarn exporters have been restricted only to licensed cotton yarn exporters.
