Export ban

According to numerous and consistent press reports, on 20 October 2014, the Slovakian parliament passed a constitutional amendment banning the export of water through pipelines and water tanks.
The measure is directed at Hungary and Poland which were planning to build pipelines to import water from Slovakian sources. With the new rules in place, Hungarian and Polish companies will have to bottle water in Slovakia before being able to export it.
When asked about the amendment, the Slovakian Prime Minister replied "obviously we can't jeopardize jobs".
