In October 2015, the government of India initiated a new anti-dumping investigation. In September 2016, the investigation was terminated without the imposition of duties.

On October 20th, 2015, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of AA dry cell batteries from China and Vietnam. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 8506.10.
This investigation follows the application lodged by the Association of Indian Dry Cell Manufacturers on behalf of the domestic industry, namely Eveready Industries India Ltd., Panasonic Energy India Co. Ltd., and Indo National Ltd.
On 27 September 2016, the Indian authorities terminated the antidumping investigation on imports of the subject good from Viet Nam and China without the imposition of duties.
