Import tariff quota

On 29 October 2015, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution No. 102 issuing two tariff-rate quotas on the following two goods:

  • Frozen sardines (NCM 0303.53.00): decreased tariff from 10% to 2% for quota of 30'000 tons and a period of 180 days
  • Polymeric MDI (Ex 001 of NCM 3909.30.20): decreased tariff from 14% to 2% for quota of 52'500 tons and a period of 180 days

Once the quota ceiling is reached, the general Mercosur Common External Tariff applies again.
The measure took effect on 30 October 2015.

Update
On the 11 January 2016 Camex Resolution No. 1 extended the tariff-rate quota on polymeric MDI (NCM 3909.30.20, Ex 001) for a six month period from 27 April 2016. The import tariff and quota remain the same. See related measure.
