Anti-dumping

On August 5th, 2015, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of continuous casting billets originating in China (Notice ADC No. 36/2015/NTC/CCB). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7207.1110, 7207.1119, 7207.1210, 7207.1290, 7207.1910, 7207.1920, 7207.1990, 7207.2010, 7207.2020, 7207.2090, 7224.1000 and 7224.9000. This investigation follows the application lodged on June 29th, 2015 by M/s Amreli Steel Limited, Karachi, M/S Agha Steel Industries, Karachi, and ASG Metals Limited, Karachi, domestic producers of the subject goods.

On 26 April 2016, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission decided to continue the above investigation without the imposition of provisional duties. The provisional measure was not imposed due to the already imposed regulatory duty of 15%, which entered into force on 14 January 2015. For more information on the regulatory duty, see related measure.

On 22 June 2017, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from China. The rate of duty is 24.04%. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
