Import tariff

 On 19 October 2015, the Indian Ministry of Finance increased the import duty on wheat from 10% to 25% (see related measure). The duty is valid till 31 March 2016.
 
On 28 March 2016, through Notification No. 24/2016-Customs the increased import duty was extended until 1 July 2016. On 17 June 2016, through Notification No. 38/2016-Customs the 25% duty was extended indefinitely.
 
The duty was reduced on 23 September 2016 from 25% to 10%, up to 29 February 2017.
