Trade finance

On 27 March 2015, the Brazilian Development Bank BNDES signed a financing deal worth USD 150 million with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), co-financed by the Mizuho Bank, Ltd. Both sides contributed 50 percent of the funding. Previous loans with BNDES were agreed on in March 2011 and March 2014.

The credit is going to finance renewable energy projects in Brazil, such as wind and biomass power. The loan is based on JBIC's GREEN projects facility ("Global action for Reconciling Economic growth and ENvironmental preservation"). JBIC stated that the cooperation will 'provide opportunities to propagate in Brazil, internationally acclaimed Japanese advanced environmental technologies.'
