On 5 February 2015, the German Eximbank KfW announced it would provide an export credit worth 32.8 million EUR to build an airfreight terminal at the international airport in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Abeba. The credit recipient is the Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's largest airline. Most of the technical components of the terminal as well as the cooling and storage technology shall be provided by the German company Unitechnik Systems.
Furthermore, the French Development Agency (AFD) provided another part of the loan worth 50 million EUR. However, as no French company has been mentioned in the deal, the French intentions to support their own industry cannot be verified (Ethiopian Airlines signed recent deals with Boeing instead of Airbus).
