Export ban

On 18 December 2014, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade issued circular letter 1300/M-DAG/SD/12/2014, addressing the country's 11 producers in the refined sugar industry.
The letter instructs the producers to supply only the country's food and beverage industry starting from 1 January 2015. The Ministry thereby banned exports of refined sugar.
According to the UN Comtrade database, Indonesia did not export more than 1 million USD-worth of sugar to any single jurisdiction in 2014. Therefore, no affected jurisdictions have been selected.
