Import tariff

On 30 September 2015, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution no. 94 which introduces six tariff-rate quotas. The following goods carrying a Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) code are affected by a temporary duty reduction:

  1. Hazelnut without nutshell (NCM 0802.22.00): tariff reduction from 6% to 2% for a quota of 7'500 tons and a period of 18 months, starting 6 October 2015
  2. Partially-oriented yarn/POY (NCM 5402.46.00): tariff reduction from 18% to 2% for a quota of 120'600 tons and a period of 12 months, starting 9 October 2015
  3. Black ink (NCM 3215.11.00): tariff reduction of 14% to 2% for a quota of 396 tons and a period of 12 months, starting 1 October 2015
  4. Other types of ink (NCM 3215.19.00): tariff reduction of 14% to 2% for a quota of 924 tons and a period of 12 months, starting 1 October 2015
  5. Cauterized aluminum foil (NCM 7607.19.90): tariff reduction from 12% to 2% for a quota of 3'000'000m˛ and a period of 12 months, starting 1 October 2015
  6. Polyvinyl butyral/PVB film (NCM 3920.91.00): tariff reduction from 16% to 2% for a quota of 5.692.698 and a period of 6 months, starting 27 February 2016
