On 11 July 2016, the government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expropriated a factory owned by a company headquartered in the United States of America.
Specifically, the government announced that it has taken control over a factory owned by Kimberly-Clark Corp, a US company that produces paper-based personal care products. The takeover occured after Kimberly-Clark Corp declared that it was no longer possible for them to manufacture in Venezuela due to the country's economic crisis.
