NoOn 5 February 2010, the Vice Agriculture Minister, Bayu Krisnamurthi, announced that the government is aiming to attract US$ 10.6 billion in investment through the development of three special economic zones producing agricultural products. The three zones will be located in Medan, Dumai, and Merauke.
The SEZ approach is intended to make local and foreign investors interested in developing downstream industries by using domestic raw materials.
