On 20 October 2015, the Italian Eximbank SACE announced in a press release that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Aviation City Corporation (henceforth: DACC).
SACE agreed to provide 1 billion EUR in export credit for Italian companies - both Italian goods and services - involved in the construction of the Dubai South complex. The area shall include an international airport, a general aviation hub, golf courses, a logistic centre and office buildings. Dubai South will also host the Expo in 2020.
A state measure in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects the extent of discrimination against foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the state aid proposed here is discriminatory.
