The New Jersey Economic Development Authority agreed at a board meeting on June 9, 2015 to provide $164.2 million in tax credits for 10 years to a water utility based in Voorhees, New Jersey in exchange for a pledge to keep existing jobs in the state and to build its new headquarters in Camden, New Jersey. The American Water Works Company, Inc., will consolidate 596 jobs from five existing offices into a newly constructed 250,000 square-foot facility in Camden. The company will also need to add an additional 100 jobs. American Water has 6,400 employees providing services to 15 million people in 47 states and Ontario.
