FDI: Entry and ownership rule
On 3 Mai 2012, the Turkish government eased the limits for foreigners to buy real estate with the law no. 6302. The law allows foreigners to buy up to 30 hectares of land. The limit can be extended to 60 hectares with a special permission.
Before this amendment, foreigners were only allowed to purchase up to 2.5 hectares of Turkish soil.
The state liberalization is restricted to citizens of countries with whom Ankara has signed a reciprocity agreement.
