NoOn April 28th, 2020, the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) announced a subsidy program to increase the production of masks and alcoholic disinfectants. Due to Coronavirus disease, Japan is having a shortage of masks and alcohol disinfectants. In order to supplement the shortage, a fixed subsidy amount of 100% of the budget required for production equipment needed for masks, and alcoholic disinfectants with an upper limit of 2.91 billion (270 million USD) was agreed upon. Japanese companies that wish to receive this subsidy will be required to show proof of expenses (books, receipts, etc.) related to the production of the masks and alcoholic disinfectants.(books, receipts, etc.). This subsidy will last until March 26th, 2021.
