On March 4, 2020 Celanese Corporation filed a petition seeking the Imposition of antidumping duties on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) imported from Korea. UHMWPE is classifiable under the HTSUS subheadings 3901.10.1000 and 3901.20.1000.

On April 17, 2020 the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that there is a reasonable indication that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of these imports. As a result of the determination, the U.S. Department of Commerce will continue with its antidumping duty investigation.
