Financial assistance in foreign market

On 29 September 2019, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and French car leasing company ALD SA signed a loan agreement having a total value of EUR 250 million (approx. USD 273.5 million). The EIB financing will support the company's purchase and deployment of 15,000 electric or hybrid vehicles across the EU with a particular focus on Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands as well as France. The loan is issued under the Cleaner Transport Facility launched in December 2016.

ALD SA, also known as ALD Automotive, is a global full-service vehicle leasing company directed towards both individuals and corporations. The company has its headquarters in France with a global presence in 43 countries around the world of which over 30 countries are in Europe.

A state act in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the investment support granted here is discriminatory.
