Trade finance

On March 26th, 2015, a 19.505 billion yen ($163 million USD) loan agreement was signed with the Republic of the Philippines and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the Metro Manila Cross-Over Construction Project. This loan will be part of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency's STEP program which implies that the loan will go towards providing the Philippines with Japanese steel viaducts and consulting services. 

Special Terms for Economic Partnership (STEP)
A stipulation in JICA ODA loan agreements is the utilization of advanced Japanese technologies and the employment of Japanese firms in overseas projects.
