ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
Tax or social insurance relief
On August 6, 2018 the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced incentives to Green Bay Packaging valued at $60 million in tax credits over 12 years to support the company’s plan to build a new paper mill in Green Bay. It supplies companies that produce corrugated boxes. That annual support of $5 million is on top of a $23 million incentive package that the Green Bay City Council unanimously approved on June 19, 2018, in the form of a rebate of 90% of the taxes it pays on the new assessed value it creates with the new mill; assuming that incentive is also over a 12-year period, it is worth $1.9 million per year.
