ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On February 15th, 2018, the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) with the Fukushima Prefectural Government allocated a budget of 64 million USD to the "Regional Reconstruction Practical Development Program" which includes providing expense subsidies for companies within 15 Fukushima municipalities.
The subsidy pays for outsourcing expenses, construction costs, machine equipment cost, personal expenses and research and development by providing a grant of up to 1 billion yen (9 million USD) per business plan. The subsidies will go to companies that operate within the fields of robotics, energy, environment, recycling, agriculture, forestries, fisheries, medicine (medical equipment etc.), health, reactor decommissioning, and fields requiring knowledge of radiation.
Any company which is headquartered within the assigned 15 Fukushima municipalities or cooperates with companies within these locations may apply for subsidies rates matching the size of their business. Large corporations may apply for half of their expenses to be subsidized while SME's may apply for 2/3 of their expenses to be subsidized.
