FDI: Entry and ownership rule

On June 19th, 2018, the China Banking Regulatory Commission announced that foreign insurance agencies who have been conducting business for at least three years would be allowed to set up businesses in China.

The policy was intended to 'further expand the opening up of the insurance industry and promote the insurance agency industry in China'.

The announcement was released in tandem with another that allowed foreign insurance assessment firms to set up in China, please see related act for more information.
