Import-related non-tariff measure, nes

On 29 January 2018, the Federal Public Income Administration of Argentina adopted Resolution General 4197-E creating a pilot program for in-factory customs regime users. The new program allows these importers to become adhered to the Authorized Economic Operator scheme.

Importers willing to become Authorized Economic Operators in the form of in-factory customs will be granted up to twelve months to become an authorized economic operator.

This legislation entered into force on 30 January 2018.

Authorized Economic Operators regime
The World Customs Organization created the figured of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) to identify all actors involved in the movement of goods that has been recognized by a national Customs administration as complying with WCO or equivalent supply chain security standards.

The recognition of this status allows the actor to reduce Customs bureaucracy and speed up the commercial transactions.
