Import tariff quota

On June 29, 2018 the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the amounts of raw cane sugar and certain sugars, syrups, and molasses that may be imported under the lower tier of duties provided by the tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) for these products during Fiscal Year 2019 (October 1, 2018-September 30, 2019). Aggregate quantities of up to 1,117,195 metric tons raw value (MTRV) of raw cane sugar and 192,000 MTRV of refined sugar (sugars, syrups, and molasses) may be entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption during this period. The value for raw cane sugar was unchanged from FY2018, but the value for other sugars represented a 5.5% increase over the FY2018 value of 182,000 MTRV.
