Export tariff quota
On 9 October 2013, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry through Notification No. 45(RE-2013)/2009-2014 reduced the minimum export price on exports of edible oil in branded consumer packs of up to 5 kgs. from USD 1500 per metric ton to USD 1400 per metric ton. The earlier price was imposed in February 2013.
The export of edible oils has been prohibited since March 2008. However, oil exports in retail packs has been allowed with tariff quota restrictions (See related state acts).
The MEP was later reduced to USD 1100 per ton in April 2014.
