Import quota

On 4 May 2018, the Indian Directorate General of Foreign Trade through Notification No. 06/2015-2020 extended an import quota of 300,000 metric tons imposed on whole beans of species Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper and Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek in August 2017 to split varieties of the above beans as well.

There were no restrictions on the imports of split varieties of the beans before this amendment.

The restriction does not apply to import commitments of the Government under any trade or other agreements.
