Export ban

On 20 January 2016, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry through Notification No. 31/2015-2020 permitted the exports of Roasted Gram (whole/split) in consumer packs of 1 kg. Exports of all pulses otherwise is prohibited.

On 22 November 2017, the prohibition on exports of pulses was lifted and on 4 April 2018, it was clarified that the export packaging restriction imposed on Roasted Gram will cease to apply as well (see related State Acts). The present intervention is thus classified as removed on 4 April 2018.
