FDI: Entry and ownership rule
On March 12, 2018 the governor of Wyoming signed into law an act (SEA No. 0016) that may facilitate access to the insurance market in that state by removing restrictions relating to the operation of out-of-state insurers. These amendments may benefit foreign providers (as well as providers from the other 49 U.S. states). They allow affiliates and subsidiaries to transact business in Wyoming, and grant authority to the Insurance Commissioner to allow operation in certain cases where adequate competition or coverage is not available.
