Import ban

On 25 April 2018, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry through Notification 04/2015-2020 restricted the import policy of peas for the period 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 and imposed an import quota of 100,000 metric tonnes for the same period.

On 2 July 2018, the import restriction was extended until 30 September 2018 through Notification No. 15/2015-2020.

On 29 August 2018, the import restriction imposed under Notification 04/2015-2020 was lifted via Notification No. 31/2015-2020. However, on 30 August 2018 the restriction was again notified through No. 32/2015-2020 valid until 30 September 2018.
